The Deloitte Center for the Edge researches and analyzes the forces that are pushing business and organizational operations to adapt to what they call The Big Shift. The Center is headed by two renowned thought leaders on the impacts of social technology: John Seely Brown and John Hagel.

Firms must learn to take better advantage of the Web and the social relationships it supports. They must also expand opportunities for their creative workers to be creative within the firm’s normal ways of doing business, or risk losing them to the opportunities available through free agency.  These are huge but crucial  hurdles for many organizations and leaders.

And this is what makes my job is so exciting. I get to help organizations negotiate the Big Shift while they still have the chance to establish new strategic positions, closer to the leading edge and with better vision of the future.
