North Bay Social Media Workshop
When? Where?
Late October, location to be announced.
What kind of workshop?
- Demo-and-discuss – we learn from one another.
- Business networking – we swap leads, partner up, offer referrals
- Devise collaborative projects to improve the place we live
Who’s in charge?
Right now, it’s me. I’ve been in the social media profession for 23 years, working out of Marin. But these responsibilities could very easily be shared. It is “social” after all.
Marin County, California, is a place with a population of about 250,000. Sonoma County has a population of about 477,000.
Marin is also one of the cradles of social media, being the founding location of The WELL.
The North Bay Social Media Workshop (NBSMW) aims to bring together residents with expertise and interest in the use of social media to discuss tricks of the trade, but also to consider how our county could be served and improved by deliberate application of social media to local self-governance, local civic activity and local awareness of the problems we face in the near and more distant future.
